Web Tools 2.0
Definition of Web Tools :
-You can go online and find a long list of explanations of
the term “Web 2.0″ – some are short, some are long, but few are simple. I’ll
stick to a simple one – because we love simplicity! :)
-Web 2.0 is term that was introduced in 2004 and refers to
the second generation of the World
Wide Web. The term "2.0" comes from the software industry, where
new versions of software programs are labeled with an incremental version
number. Like software, the new generation of the Web includes new features and
functionality that was not available in the past. However, Web 2.0 does not
refer to a specific version of the Web, but rather a series of technological
improvements.

YOUTUBE

YouTube is a video sharing service that allows
users to watch videos posted by other users and upload videos of their
own.

The service was started as an independent
website in 2005 and was acquired by Google in 2006.

February 2005. The
founders are Chad Hurley, Steve Chen and Jawed Karim.

The slogan of the YouTube website is
"Broadcast Yourself."
WIKIPEDIA
·
A wiki is a web site that allows users to add
and update content on the site using their own Web browser.

This is made possible by wiki software that runs
on the Web server.

A great example of a large wiki is the
Wikipedia, a free encyclopedia in many languages that anyone can edit.

The founder of Wikipedia is Jimmy Donal “Jimbo”
Wales and Rick Gates.
TWITTER
·
Twitter is an online service that allows you to
share updates with other users by answering one simple questions.

The founder is Jack Dorsey.
·
Nowadays Twitter normally used by teenagers.
·
Easy to find friends by searching their
twithandle.
·
Each tweet limit to 140 characters, which means
there is no room for rambling.
·
Since most people have frequent access to a
computer or cell phone, Twitter makes it possible to provide others with
frequent updates about your life.
FLICKR

Flickr is an image hosting and video hosting
website, and web services suit that was create by Ludicorp in 2004.

Begin a popular of users to share an embed
personal photographs, and effectively an online community.

Photos and videos can be access from flickr
without the need to register an account but an account must be made in order to
upload content onto the website.
TUMBLR

Tumblr is a popular microblogging platform
designed for creative self-expression.

Its provide an easy interface and has the
fastest multimedia publishing capabilities of all blog services.

CEO David Karp founded Tumblr in 2007.
REDDIT
·
Reddit --
officially known as reddit -- is a social news website that New York-based
media company Advance Magazine Publishers Inc. owns via its Condé Nast Digital
subsidiary. Largely comprising news aggregation and a general discussion and
advice forum, Reddit is similar to sites such as Google News, Slashdot and Digg

Steve Huffman and Alexis Ohanian, 22-year-old
men founded Reddit in 2005
·
In May
2010, Reddit was named in the "2010 Hottest San Francisco Companies"
list of business data firm Lead411. Later that year, on September, 2010, redditors
launched a campaign to get Stephen Colbert -- the host of Comedy Central's
satirical news show, "The Colbert Report" -- to hold a rally in
Washington, DC, raising over $500,000 for charity in the process. The campaign
was successful; the rally took place on October 30, with thousands of redditors
in attendance.

VIBER
·
Viber has been a Skype competitor of sorts for
a long time, like any VoIP and messaging app for smartphones. At the same
time, it’s also been a direct
competitor to WhatsApp, employing the same tactic of tying itself to the
user’s mobile phone number.

But now the Cyprus-headquartered startup has
taken things to a whole new level with its Viber 3 version: it’s released a
desktop app for OS X and Windows, making it a full-blown alternative for
Skype’s core user base. At the same time, Viber has also beefed up its Android

total of 27).

INSTAGRAM
Instagram is an online photo-sharing, video-sharing and social networking service that enables its users to take pictures and videos, apply digitalfilters to them, and share them on a variety of social networking services, such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Flickr. Instagram was created by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger and launched in October 2010.
KEEK
Keek is a free online social networking service that allows its users to upload video status updates, which are called "keeks". Users can post keeks to the keek website using a webcam or via the Keek mobile apps for iPhone,[10] Android,[11] BlackBerry,[12] or Windows Phone.[13] Users can also reply back with text or video comments, known as "keekbacks", and share content to other major social media networks.
KAKAO TALK
KakaoTalk provides free call and text messaging service. In addition, users can share diverse contents and information from photos, videos, voice messages, URL links to contact information. Both one-on-one chat and group chats are available over Wifi or 3G, and there are no limits to the number of friends to join in group chat. Recently, users in group chats can do free call. Furthermore, if someone doesn't want to call in group chats, he or she can push ignore button.
